Faith

Growing up in the home of a missionary family; and as wife to a pastors son, I understand the unique challenges that pastors and missionaries face in their personal and professional lives. My faith in Christ has been a central part of my identity since I was baptized at 12 years old. My husband and family have been involved at Traders Point Christian Church since 2012. I still see myself as an adult Third Culture Kid, having only moved back to the USA in my late 20’s I understand the support needed when transitioning between cultures and the reentry process.

Experience/Training

BSc in Psychology from Milligan University, Tennessee.
MSW in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University, Indiana.
Additional Training:
Motivational Interviewing (MI); Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP).

I have worked in home-based services for 8 years, helping individuals and families in the child-welfare or juvenile probation systems. Prior to that, I worked in a residential setting and also in a mental health hospital setting, both were with juveniles through young adults. I understand the impact family systems have in determining outcomes of family members.

I offer a client-centered approach that emphasizes collaboration, empowerment, and holistic healing, where you and your family can heal in a supportive and transformative therapeutic environment.

Personal

Beyond my therapeutic approach, my husband and I have been married since 2004 and have three children. We love to camp and hike and spend time in the outdoors. We are very involved in our local 4H. We own a small farm and run a non-profit using our farm to host Farm Camps each summer and have a purpose-built outdoor kitchen to host community cooking classes and host community dinners. We use the food we grow to provide to those in need in our community, teaching them how to use fresh, local food to prepare meals everyone will enjoy.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is characterized by empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a holistic understanding of human wellness. I am dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and build fulfilling lives.
